OUR WORKPLACE STANDARD

Respect, safety, and speaking up.

Carebound is committed to a professional environment where people are treated fairly, work safely, protect confidentiality, and can raise concerns in good faith without retaliation.

Public policy summary · Effective August 11, 2026 · Last reviewed August 14, 2026

1. Scope and purpose

This public summary describes the workplace standards Carebound Staffing LLC expects in its own operations and, once placements begin, from Carebound personnel working at client healthcare facilities. Client facilities direct clinical care and maintain their own site-specific policies. Carebound personnel must follow applicable law, their professional scope of practice, Carebound requirements, and the policies of the facility where they are assigned.

Current operating status: Carebound is registered with the New York State Department of Health as a temporary health care services agency under Certificate of Registration TA1782, for the registration year August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027. Placements begin once Carebound's remaining operating requirements are complete; registration alone does not start assignments.

2. Respectful and fair conduct

Carebound expects professional, respectful behavior in every interaction with candidates, personnel, facilities, patients, residents, families, and the public. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threats, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and retaliation are not acceptable.

Employment and assignment-related decisions are to be based on legitimate qualifications, credentials, competency, availability, conduct, and business needs, consistent with applicable law. Requests for reasonable accommodation may be raised directly with Carebound for an individualized review.

3. Safety, scope, and fitness for duty

  • Personnel must work within the lawful scope of their license or certification and their demonstrated competency.
  • Personnel must follow client-facility safety, infection-control, patient-handling, privacy, and emergency procedures.
  • Personnel must report fit for duty, rested and unimpaired.
  • A worker asked to perform a task outside their scope, training, or fitness for duty must decline the task and notify the facility supervisor and Carebound.
  • Immediate danger, suspected abuse or neglect, controlled-substance diversion, injury, exposure, adverse event, or unsafe condition must be escalated promptly through the facility’s process and to Carebound.

4. Reporting concerns and non-retaliation

Carebound encourages good-faith reporting of safety concerns, errors, near-misses, misconduct, complaints, suspected abuse or neglect, privacy concerns, and requests to work outside professional scope. Reports may be made by phone, email, through the website contact form, or verbally to the Carebound Administrator.

Carebound prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern, makes a complaint, participates in an investigation, or declines work they reasonably believe is unsafe or outside their lawful scope. Reports are documented, reviewed according to seriousness, and shared only with people who need the information to respond.

Emergencies and immediate threats should be reported first to 911 and the responsible on-site facility personnel.

5. Workplace safety programs

Carebound’s approved workplace safety program includes the following protections and procedures:

  • Return to work: temporary modified or light-duty work may be offered after an occupational injury when suitable work is available and consistent with written medical restrictions.
  • Post-accident and reasonable-suspicion testing: drug and alcohol testing may be required after qualifying workplace events, where objective indicators support reasonable suspicion, or where a client facility requires testing. Medical treatment takes priority, required testing is paid by Carebound, and results are handled confidentially.
  • Injury acknowledgement and reporting: work-related injuries, illnesses, exposures, near-misses, and unsafe conditions must be reported to the facility immediately and to Carebound within 24 hours. Good-faith reporting is protected from retaliation.
  • Hazard communication: personnel receive general hazard-communication training and site-specific information from client facilities, including access to Safety Data Sheets, chemical labeling information, and required protective equipment.
  • Bloodborne-pathogen protection: personnel with reasonably anticipated occupational exposure are offered the hepatitis B vaccination series at no cost, subject to prior vaccination, documented immunity, medical contraindication, or informed declination. Exposure incidents require prompt reporting and medical follow-up.

6. Privacy and confidentiality

Carebound personnel must protect patient, resident, candidate, worker, and facility information. Patient information may be accessed, used, or disclosed only as permitted by law, role, and facility policy. Concerns and investigations are handled as confidentially as reasonably possible, subject to safety, legal, and investigative needs.

7. Review and accountability

Carebound reviews reported concerns fairly and gives involved personnel an opportunity to respond when appropriate. Depending on the facts, action may include coaching, training, competency review, reassignment, suspension of assignment eligibility, removal from the roster, service improvements, or referral to a facility or authority.

This public summary does not replace applicable law, a client facility’s policies, a contract, or Carebound’s detailed internal procedures. Carebound may update it as legal requirements and operations change.
